About Jim Donald
Jim (a retired pastor) has re-entered the world as a Civil Celebrant conducting marriages, funerals, baby namings, vow-renewals and even opening a dog show!
Jim finds delight in assisting people in their special days to make it a memorable experience.
Jim has been a member of the AAMCA (Association of Authorised Marriage Celebrants Australia Inc.) for some years.
He enjoys the challenge of developing new ceremonies to adapt to peoples requirements. For example, he has recently developed a memorial service to mark the passing of a favoured pet and a service for house blessing!
Jim and his wife Sue, have been married for over 37 years and have 7 children and 8 grandchildren.
Although born in Sydney, his family have been in the Glen Innes region for over 150 years. He and the family moved back to Glen Innes in 1988.
Jim was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1983.
What about hobbies, Jim? "Well, I have always loved music. My mum was a wonderful singer in her youth, even entertaining troops on the radio during WWII. I play the recorder, guitar, and I wrestle with the bagpipes and sometimes I win!"
